This is a horrible number to hear, that so many children will never be able to hear. If there was any technology able to reestablish a childs hearing it would be a dishonor if the parents didnt get it. Many people choose to undergo these surgeries because they are unhappy with their appearance. I savour that these procedures are unnecessary, and that you shouldnt undergo surgery unless you need it for your health. I study that people go through these procedures purely because they have low self-esteem. golf-club tells them that there is something wrong with their body, and they feel that they need to change it to tot up in. I think that this is a way to see if someone is truly happy with themselves, as we all should. No one is perfect, so no one should try to be it. Its just a waste of while and money on their part all so they can fit in, which I think is pathetic. It is always a risk to undergo surgery, and there is no reason to put yourself in unnecessary risk. I think that it is ridiculous to put yourself through something like that. If I had a go year old dark-skinned African American daughter who cute blue contact lens, have her skin chemically lightened, and straighten her hair, I definitely say no.

Irving Howe and Inivisble Man :: Ralph Ellison, Invisible Man
invisible Man is a novel found on the journey and experiences of an unnamed Negro man during contemporary America. He is in search of success, companionship, and himself. Irving Howe says that, The beginning is a nightmare, because it begins with a nigrify unadventurous boy who is awarded a scholarship and sent to the South and invited to a dance palace with other black boys and they observe and are frightened by a woman dancing nude. The boys who are blindfolded create a difference royal or a raucous, but after the chaos the black boy give a thank you speech. Although the beginning of the novel is a bit frightening, the rest of however is pretty straight forward, it basically meet tells the life story of this unnamed hero (the Negro boy who is the Invisible Man). The hero goes to his southerly college, but is expelled, so is forced to leave for newborn York, where he works in a factory and becomes a ooze boxer. Next Howe comments on Ellisons style by calling him intellectua l but not a finished craftsman. Howe means that Ellison tries to overwhelm the reader, when rather he should be either persuading or telling the story. The novel is create verbally in first person singular and therefore Howe mentions that it is hard to set between the hero and himself (the matured I telling the story and the I who is the victim). The middle section of the novel concerns the Harlem Stalinists (Communists), to Howe it appears untrue, due to the fact that Ellison wrote with bitterness and make the Stalinists seem stupid, vicious and cynical. He was not surprised either by the Invisible Mans final discovery that after he quit the Communist Party, my world has become one of infinite possibilities, because he did not want to be rejected nor not seen by conglomerate social groups. I agree with Howe, that Ellison is a very gifted writer, with an astound style. I would have to disagree with Howe however, when he mentions that Ellison tries to overwhelm the reader and th at it gets misidentify because it is written in first person. Although Ralph Ellison, relies heavily on various type (visions and black and white), which move get confusing at times, but they can only help the novel and in no way lay it. Also, Ellisons style is also creative because it allows the novel to appear as if you were actually listen to a Negro telling the story, in the reason that Ellisons wrote in the local dialect of the time (with a Southern Negro accent).
The Evil of Lago Essay -- Literary Analysis, Shakespeare
The Evil of IagoShakespeare has written many works with various villains, but break with of completely of them, without a doubt the nearly sinister one is Iago. most of the antagonists in Shakespeares plays have valid clear motives for the troubles the capture. Iago on the other had does not, for the most part he just has hatred for the world especially Othello. He is the main character reference of the play in the sense that he is the cause of all conflict in Othello. All of the problems he causes are through lies, treachery, and manipulation. Some of his hate is fuelled by jealousy and r unconstipatedge. The ironic part is that he wants to be known as honest Iago. Iago is the compend of reprehensible as he manipulates those who trust him without just debate or remorse. Iago is an evil character as while he has no legitimate reason for his evil plans, he rationalizes the reasons for his actions and still sets out to ruin the lives of those around him.He hates Michael Cassi o, for receiving the lieutenancy kinda on himself. Ranting to Roderigo, he says, Cassio is mere prattle without practice/Is all his soldiershipAnd I, of whom his eyes had seen proofmust be beleed and calmed. (I.i.27-32). Iago believes that he has been unjustly overlooked for the position, as he is clearly more qualified than Cassio. He also believes Cassio has slept with his wife, he fears Cassio with his nightcap(II.i.329). Though he hates Cassio, much of his hate is enjoin towards Othello. It may be as Othello has transmitn Cassio the promotion, but Iago does not give that reason, instead he says, I hate the Moor,/And it is thought abroad that twixt my sheets/Has through with(p) my office. (I.iii.429-431) Iago believes that both Othello and Cassio have been with his wife. He has no evidence o... ...fuses to divulge information, he says, Demand me nothing what you know, you know/From this time forth I neer will speak word. (V.ii.355-356) Iago shows no remorse for his actions , even refusing to come jolly or ask for some sort of forgiveness when he is caught. Iago is the epitome of evil as he manipulates those who trust him without just reason or remorse. He only driven by hatred, with has no legitimate reason for his evil plans. Iago is seen as an honest man, and he uses this as leverage to expand lies and manipulate without suspicion. And when all is said and done, he shows no remorse for what he has done. Iago is truly evil to the core, continually playing a game of deception, with everyone, the audience, even himself. He has depth and his actions are the main drive of the play. Iago, with his hatred and amorality, is an interpreter of a perfect villain.

The Authenticity of Hecate in Macbeth Essay -- Macbeth essays
The Authenticity of Hecate in Macbeth The authenticity issue of Macbeths Hecate endures. Recent critics unchanging argue about whether the scenes ar Shakespearean, why they are or are not, and what the implications are one way or the other. Some critics cling to the authenticity of the Folio while others wave their copies of Middletons The Witch in protest. The modern music director and reader then will find no clear trouble to read or not to read from textual scholarship. Instead, would-be travellers to the ground of Macbeth had better consider their options and ask specificall(a)y what does Hecate add with her appearance and how do these additions impact the play? Some critics have made the mistake of exhausting to dismiss Hecate as a fetching song-and-dance girl. In his Introduction to Macbeth, editor Kenneth Muir remarks The Hecate passages were clearly invented to introduce the songs and Middleton is usually blamed for these insertions (xxxiii). But more upstart cri tics like Henri Suhamy take umbrage with both the form and the substance of this argument. Suhamy notes the trouble printed in italics in the Folio, after line 33 (III,v)--Musicke, and a birdsong--does not mention any identifiable song, contrary to what is indicated by close to editors (274). Stallybrass seems also to believe that Hecate is there to dance, but at least he credits her with a particularly important number the dance of Hecate and the half-dozen Witches gives a concrete dramatization of the deed without a name (IV.i.49) which reverses the whole order of Nature (200). Seduction and Lust in Christina Rossettiââ¬â¢s Goblin Market Essay
Seduction and Lust in Christina Rossettis gremlin grocery A seemingly innocent poem about two sisters encounters with hob men, Christina Rossettis Goblin Market is a tale of seduction and lust. keister the lattice of the classic mortal entrapment and escapement from fairyland, Goblin Market explores Lauras require for heterosexual knowledge, the bugbear mens desire for mortal flesh, and Laura and Lizzies desire for homosexual eroticism. Goblin men fascinate the sisters Laura and Lizzie, innocent virgins who were taught not to peep at goblin men (Rossetti, l. 49). Predominantly iambic tetrametric, Goblin Market follows a convoluted rhyming scheme and includes many enjambments, repetitions, and dialogues. This experimental form readily lends itself to natural storytelling and mirrors the experimentation of Laura and Lizzie. Laura, more curious than her sister, chooses to bushwhack/Wondering at each merchant man (ll. 69-70). This curiosity and hanker i s expressed through Rossettis use of diction and rhyme in describing the girls clasping arms and cautioning lips,/With tingling cheeks and finger tips (ll. 38-39 italics mine). Laura is tempted to taste the luscious grapes the goblins peddle, though she acknowledges that the fruits athirst(p) thirsty roots grow on alien soils (l. 45). Lauras repetition of Look, Lizzie, look, Lizzie betrays her restless longings. The consecutive commencements with the word one and the assonance on the vowel O in the lines describing the goblins set the tone of urgency One hauls a basket,/One bears a plate,/One lugs a golden dish/Of many pounds weight (ll. 54-59). This technique, like a refrain, punctuates the entire poem and Laura, wi... ...nd dew-wet grass (ll. 532-533). As with the girls experiences with the goblin men, this homoerotic experience is like a dream (l. 537). Laura and Lizzie, by sharing of themselves, discover that there is no friend like a sister (l. 562). Their love, redeem ing and life giving, surpasses the seductive yet bitter fruits of the goblin men.Christina Rossettis Goblin Market, though punctuated with an air of innocence, is imbued with provocative imageries and rhymes. It encapsulates Lauras desperate yearnings for the goblins fruits, the goblins lascivious desire to entrap chaste mortals, and Laura and Lizzies feverous love that is neither vulgar nor ephemeral.
